Intel Arc B580 Rumored EOL as Pro B70 Prices Rise
Leakers suggest Intel is dropping the $249 Arc B580 to prioritize high-margin Arc Pro workstation cards.
Intel is reportedly considering placing its most affordable current-generation consumer GPU, the Arc B580, on the end-of-life (EOL) list to prioritize higher-margin professional workstation cards. According to leaker Haze2K1, the company aims to shift production focus toward the Arc Pro B50 and B60, which are reportedly selling well and carrying significantly better profit margins. The B580, which launched in December 2024 at $249, is already facing thin supply and prices above its recommended retail price. This strategic pivot would leave gamers without one of the few affordable 12 GB options in the market, while Intel focuses on the BMG-G21 silicon used in its pro lineup. The move mirrors a broader industry trend where AI inference and workstation demand are squeezing consumer hardware availability, potentially impacting small studios and hobbyists who rely on accessible GPU power for local AI tasks.
